WAPDA was created in 1958 as a semi autonomous body for the purpose of carrying out accelerated and unified (WAPDA WAPDA Water And Power Development Authority (Pakistan) ), Unit 4 of TPS has developed technical problem due to which power productions has been shutdown from the affected unit suspending 175 MW power supply, private news channel reported. WAPDA sources said that state of emergency has been declared immediately after the technical fault came up. Repairing work has been started; however, the fault could not be traced after the passage of four hours. The same unit had also developed a major fault some three years ago, the sources added. Meanwhile, due to the fault in the unit the power production capacity from the National Grid Stations is down by 175 MW.
