17 schools in Madaba hold its First Student Parliamentary Meeting.


Madaba, Nov.18 (Petra)-17 Schools in Madaba governorate Madaba, (Arabic مادبا) is one of the governorates of Jordan, it is located west of Amman, capital of Jordan. Its capital is Madaba.

 on Wednesday held their first student parliamentary meeting marking the late King Hussein Noun 1. King Hussein - king of Jordan credited with creating stability at home and seeking peace with Israel (1935-1999)

 birthday anniversary.

The meeting, entitled "Commitment and Loyalty" at Um Ayman Secondary School brought together students, members of the teaching staff and school principals.

During the gathering, headmasters, teachers and students recalled efforts of their Majesties, the late King Hussein and King Abdullah King Abdullah can refer to:
  • Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, regent of Saudi Arabia since 1995 and king since 2005.
  • Abdullah II, king of Jordan since 1999
  • Abdullah I, Emir of Transjordan (1921–1946) and King of Transjordan (1946–1951)
 II in developing the educational process in the kingdom, promoting democratic life and reinforcing the role of civil society organizations in boosting the values of democracy in schools.

School Parliament resembles that of Jordan House of Parliament with only one difference that the deputy elect could eventually head an assembly constituted of student deputies. Their mission is to defend the ideas and demands of their friends and cooperate with the government represented by the school's administration.

This experience has many positive effects on the development of the capacities of both students and teachers. It encourages freedom of expression at the level of younger generation and creates an atmosphere of dialogue between students and school administration.
