There has been a slight improvement in survival rates but young women are still smoking too much, Queen's University researchers said.

Their report added around 900 people are diagnosed with the disease every year.

Dr Anna Gavin said: "This is a preventable illness and as tobacco is the main cause we need to reduce the number of people who start to smoke, while encouraging those who already smoke to give up."
