BURBANK - Terms of a three-year contract that would give more than 1,400 Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center is a hospital in Burbank, California, USA. The hospital has 455 beds, and is part of Providence Health & Services. It's adress is: 501 S. Buena Vista St., Burbank, CA 91505.  workers wage increases of at least 15 percent to 17 percent were tentatively reached Thursday.

The agreement, which would also provide fully paid family health coverage for full-time employees, would be the hospital's first union contract in 60 years of operation, if approved next week, according to according to

``We believe we are starting on a wonderful relationship'' with the hospital, said Sue Weinstein, a labor specialist for Local 121RN, which represents about 750 nurses at the hospital.

began an intensive round of negotiations on Feb. 25. The union had set a goal of reaching an agreement by Tuesday, but negotiators pushed past that deadline and continued talking into Thursday morning.

A ratification vote of the three contracts for nurses, service-maintenance employees and technical workers is scheduled next Thursday by union members at the hospital.

``We're pleased to reach tentative agreements on these three contracts, which respect the rights of our employees, follow our core values of the Sisters of Providence The Sisters of Providence are an order of Roman Catholic sisters founded in 1843 by Mother Emilie Gamelin. Blanca Gallegos, a spokeswoman for the SEIU, said workers at Providence Saint Joseph's Saint Joseph's may refer to:

The SEIU had hoped to win wages in line with what Kaiser Permanente Kaiser Permanente is an integrated managed care organization, based in Oakland, California, founded in 1945 by industrialist Henry J. Workers at Providence Saint Joseph's had paid premiums of up to $300 for health coverage for their families, Gallegos said.

The agreement does not give the workers more holidays or more pension benefits. But it provides for the creation of worker-management committees to discuss staffing levels and other issues, and sets a 9-to-1 patient ratio for certified nurse assistants.
