15 more illegal hydrants closed.KARACHI, September 08, 2009 (Balochistan Times): The special team of Karachi Water and Sewerage sewerage, system for the removal and disposal of chiefly liquid wastes and of rainwater, which are collectively called sewage. The average person in the industrialized world produces between 60 and 140 gallons of sewage per day. Board (KWSB KWSB Karachi Water & Sewerage Board ) during campaign against illegal hydrants closed down 15 more illegal water hydrants in city on Tuesday. A statement said that the KWSB team supported by Police, Rangers, anti-encroachment Squad and Revenue officers of City Government carried out successful raids on illegal water hydrants running in Ayub Goth, Scheme 33 Gulshan-e-Maymar Gadap Town Gadap Town is a town located in the northwestern part of Karachi with the Hub River on its western limits also forming the provincial border between Sindh and Balochistan, while to the north and east are Dadu District and the Kirthar Mountains. . It said that during the action, the KWSB team disconnected 50 illegal water connections which had been used to steal five million gallon water daily from the main line and to supply it to 15 illegal hydrants. The residents of the area had been complaining about the shortage of water due to these illegal hydrants. However, the operation was completed peacefully on Tuesday. The statement said that the people of the area on this occasion thanked the City Government for carrying out operation against illegal hydrants. He was of the view that various mafias had been operating in the city since long and hydrants mafia is also one of them.
