15 Texas Technology Companies Are Winners in Deloitte & Touche 2000 Technology Fast 500.

Fifteen Texas technology companies are included in the Sixth Annual Technology Fast 500 ranking announced today by Deloitte & Touche's Technology & Communications Group. Ranking for the Fast 500 is based on percentage growth in revenue over a five-year period (1995-1999).

"The high-technology industry is now growing faster in Texas than in Silicon Valley," said Sandy Rothe, partner in charge of the technology and communications practice for Deloitte & Touche in Texas. "We expect to find many more Texas technology companies on the Fast 500 list in future years."

Of the 15 Texas companies on the Fast 500, eight are in software, three are in scientific and technical manufacturing, two are in Internet services and one each is in communications and biotechnology. Seven companies are in the Dallas area, five are in the Houston area and three are based in Austin.

Henley Healthcare, Inc., is the fastest growing technology company in Texas. Ranked at Number 41 in the Fast 500, the company showed a 10,782 percent revenue growth from $527,000 in 1995 to $57,350,000 in 1999. Based in Sugar Land, Henley Healthcare is a manufacturer, provider and marketer of diversified, brand name products and services in the pain management industry.

Ranked Number 119 in the Fast 500, EXE Exe (ĕks), river, c.55 mi (90 km) long, rising in the Exmoor, Somerset, SW England, and flowing S across the Cornwall peninsula, past Exeter to the English Channel at Exmouth.  Technologies, Inc., a software company based in Dallas, showed a 3,397 percent increase in revenues from $2,768,000 in 1995 to $96,800,000 in 1999.

MetaSolv Software, Inc., is a software company based in Plano. Ranked at Number 127, the company showed a 3,190 percent revenue growth from $2,219,000 in 1995 to $73,007,000 in 1999.

Entrust Technologies, Inc., of Dallas ranked Number 204 in the Fast 500. Entrust, a software company, showed a 2,045 percent revenue increase from $3,973,000 in 1995 to $85,214,000 in 1999.

Ranked Number 325 in the Fast 500, pcOrder.com, Inc., a software company based in Austin, showed a 1,082 percent increase from $3,723,000 in 1995 to $44,012,000 in 1999.

BindView Development Corporation, a Houston-based software company, ranked Number 403 in the Fast 500, showing an 827 percent revenue increase from $7,333,000 in 1995 to $67,948,000 in 1999.
