14th Annual Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants Program Awards $512,750 in Grants Worldwide.


NEWARK, N.J. -- Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants, the recognition and awards program for employees of Prudential Financial, recently acknowledged 793 domestic Prudential associates and retirees and 58 international associates, including employees from Argentina, Canada, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and the United Kingdom, who excelled in volunteer commitment, leadership and service in their communities during 2004.

Grants issued by The Prudential Foundation this year totaled $512,750 and more than $8.7 million since the program began in 1991. The grant program recognizes both individual and team volunteers based on a minimum of 40 hours per individual of volunteer service. "The Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants program reinforces the importance of community involvement. We leverage this program to reward our employees and retirees for their passion and commitment to the communities we serve. In addition to recognizing our associates for the invaluable number of volunteer hours they donate, the Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants rewards them with financial contributions to present to their charitable organization, which often uses the funds to meet the most pressing needs in the community," said Gabriella Morris, president of The Prudential Foundation and vice president of Community Resources for Prudential.
