CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX MITX Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange ) announced the winners of its 14th annual awards competition, recognizing achievements in the development and implementation of interactive technologies in New England. The awards were presented last night at a sold-out event at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, where more than 1,100 professionals were in attendance from the Internet business and marketing industry.

The MITX Award winners competed in 28 web categories in industries ranging from biotechnology/pharmaceuticals, to travel and tourism. The awards also honored interactive marketing campaigns that leverage tactics such as mobile, search and social media. In addition, MITX presented five 'Best of' awards, including the 'Interactive Marketer of the Year and a People's Choice for Agency of the Year.'

"Being named MITX Interactive Marketer of the Year is wonderful honor and a great thrill," said Cynthia Ashworth, Dunkin' Donuts VP of Consumer Engagement. "This year, more than ever, Dunkin' Donuts has embraced the value of interactive, not only as a component of the overall marketing mix, but also as part of the all-encompassing Dunkin' Donuts experience. We are very pleased to be recognized for our innovative interactive marketing during a particularly exciting period in this digital age. Along with our loyal fan base, we're excited about the seemingly endless possibilities within Interactive and are intent on continuing to make strides in this area."

"The MITX Awards celebrates creativity, technology innovation and great business solutions. This year's winners show how it all comes together through innovative web applications and marketing strategies that move brands and build businesses across every industry," said Kiki Mills, president of MITX. "MITX is proud to be the foundation for New England's vibrant digital community and to recognize the game changing advances made in our own backyard."

Begun in 1996, the MITX awards have grown to be the largest and most prestigious Web innovation awards competition of its kind in the country. The judging committee is comprised of more than 100 distinguished individuals from various disciplines, including members of the media, industry analysts, academia, creative directors, chief technology officers, webmasters, developers, producers, content providers and marketing executives and strategists.
