14 TRUCKS IN I-5 COLLISION; 3 PEOPLE INJURED; WRECKS SNARL TRAFFIC OUT OF A.V.

The crash occurred after a truck driver lost control and hit a concrete divider, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The disabled truck surprised a second truck driver who had just emerged from the tunnel where the freeway divides trucks from cars.

, authorities said, other big rigs came through the tunnel smashing into each other.

``When I came into work this morning and saw the rain, I knew it was going to be quiet a day,'' Butler said. ``I now have a 200-page report on this accident. What a mess.''

The Highway Patrol said the cause of the accident was still under investigation, but the early morning rain appeared to be a factor.

Authorities said there were three injuries, including a 16-year-old female who was a passenger in the first big rig. The unidentified girl had a broken leg, cuts and bruises, officials said.

She was taken by ambulance to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is a hospital in Mission Hills, California, USA. The hospital has 254 beds, and is part of Providence Health & Services. History , along with another woman who complained of back pain. A man was treated by paramedics at the scene.

None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

The crash was one of hundreds of traffic mishaps on Southland roads and freeways Friday night and Saturday morning, officials said.
