1394 Trade Association Names Dave Sroka Marketing Chairman; Brian Eble Joins as Group's First Director of Marketing.

The 1394 Trade Association, a worldwide organization dedicated to the advancement of the IEEE 1394 multimedia standard, today named David Sroka of Philips Semiconductors as its new Marketing Chairman and announced that Brian Eble is the association's new director of marketing and communications.

Mr. Sroka is a member of the Trade Association's board of directors. He serves as North American Marketing Manager for Wired Connectivity at Philips Semiconductors in Albuquerque, where he has been employed for the past nine years. He has a total of 17 years in the electronics industry, with broad engineering and marketing experience in ASICs, FPGAs, wired connectivity and multimedia products.

"The IEEE 1394 standard is entering an exciting new phase, with the advent of the 1394b specification, which boosts bandwidth, distance and many new features," said Sroka. "In addition, the standard has emerged in the wireless and automotive sectors, and is more popular than ever in the consumer and PC product markets. Now, we are bringing Brian Eble aboard as our first full-time marketing director, to create an aggressive strategy to advocate use of the standard in new markets and to strengthen our joint marketing programs with member companies."

Mr. Eble joins the Trade Association in the newly created post from Molex Incorporated, where he was employed for more than 12 years in a wide range of marketing and communications posts, most recently as manager of corporate communications. Prior to Molex, he worked with leading advertising organizations, including Hoffman, York and Compton, a Saatchi and Saatchi agency, on campaigns and new business development. Mr. Eble will be responsible for all marketing, including brand development, trade show management, the Trade Association's web sites, advertising, and communications. He reports to James Snider, the Trade Association's executive director.
