The POF World Conference begins at the San Jose Convention Center June 19 and continues until the 21st. The Developers' Conference opens June 20 and continues until June 22 at the Fairmont Hotel, just across the street. The two conferences will sponsor a joint reception at the Fairmont June 20 from 7 until 9 PM. The POF World Conference, managed by IGI Group, features a wide range of development and design presentations including "POF Overview," "Plastic Optical Fiber in Automobiles," and "POF Systems Applications." POF World also includes several presentations by leaders of the 1394 Trade Association, including Chairman James Snider of Texas Instruments, who will present a "1394 Overview;" TA Vice Chair Max Bassler of Molex, presenting on cables and connectors; and Scott Smyers of Sony Research Labs, chair of the 1394 TA's Audio Video Work Group, set to present "1394 in a Home Network."
