120 Government employees arrested, 50 dismissed over link with banned organizations.


PESHAWAR, August 10, 2009 (Frontier Star): Provincial Government under Special Power Ordinance 2000 has dismissed 50 Government employees from their jobs over alleged links with banned terrorists' organizations. Chief Secretary has sent a summary in this respect to Chief Minister NWFP Amir Haider Khan Hoti for final approval while in second phase more 70 employees would be dismissed from their jobs, sources said. Majority of dismissed Government employees belong to education, health and local bodies departments. Over 120 Government officials have also been arrested so far, sources said, adding that, in first phase 40 employees were arrested while in second phase 60 employees were arrested. The revenue department, establishment department and law department have also been asked to confiscate properties of arrested employees.
