1 Get this party started ... before you even get there

Having a rockin' good time has little to do with the party decor or guest list. It's mostly about attitude. Yours! So get into a festive good mood before you even leave the house. Jess Zaino, co-host of the Style Network's Modern Girl's Guide to Life, says, "Jump out of the shower, throw on some JT and dance!"

2 Get yourself psyched You'll have the best time possible when you're feeling grrreat about yourself. Lara Morgenson, aka E!'s Party Girl, has been to lots of parties as a columnist for eonline.com, and she has just the thing for getting in a go-out state of mind: "Realize you're invited for a reason. People want you there."

? It's often mind-boggling to figure out what's appropriate attire. Lara advises, "Wear something you feel confident in." For an instant pick-me-up, buy something new, even if it's just a pair of inexpensive-but-dazzling earrings. No extra cash? Shop in your friends' closets.

4 Put your best foot forward You bought a pair of red-hot shoes, and you finally have an occasion to wear them! Problem is, you're out of practice when it comes to strutting your stuff in mile-high pumps. Strengthen your ankles and calves by walking on the balls of your feet a few minutes a day. And be sure to break in the ruby shoes before the big night. Blisters are, well, a pain.

5 All together now is your best friend throwing a tropical bash to beat the winter blues? Get your flip-flops out of hiding, and embrace the theme. Did the host clear out all the furniture in her living room so people could have room to shimmy and shake? So dance! Fellow partygoers will dig your fun free spirit--and your actions will encourage others to pump up the volume, too.

6 Make your entrance grand Walk into a party looking like you belong there: head up, shoulders back and a smile on your face. If you're scared to show up solo, meet up with your buds at someone's house and go as a group.

8 Spy a cute guy ... and approach him. "Boys love when a girl is cool and confident," Jess says. To get a convo going, Lara advises asking tons of questions: "Find out what he likes. Does he play video games See video game console. ? Is he a football player? People like to talk about themselves."

9 Play nice Someone you don't like is at the party? Don't talk trash--it's very unbecoming. "Have fun, and realize you can be in the same room," says Lara. "Before Paris [Hilton] and Nicole [Richie] reunited "Reunited" was a #1 hit in the United States in 1979 by the Washington, D.C.-based group Peaches & Herb.

, there was never any drama between them at parties. If Paris and Nicole can do it, anyone can."

10 Eat, drink and be careful You're oil your way to the buffet? Stick to clear drinks, like Sprite or water. That way, if you spill, so what? Avoid foods that stain, crumble, drip or wedge between your teeth. And Jess says keep your kisser luscious bite after bite by applying foundation first, then lipstick.

11 Be yourself Sounds cliche, but Lara says it's important to let the real you shine through: "People want you there." You don't have to be that Laguna Beach Laguna Beach (ləg`nə), city (1990 pop. 23,170), Orange co., S Calif., on the Pacific coast; founded 1887, inc. 1927.  poser chick ... because you're already awesome, Party Girl!

12 Make it memorable Stand out from the rest of the crowd. And, no, we don't advise you to dance on tables with a lamp shade on your head. The Style Network's Jess Zaino suggests bringing something to the, party, like a game or a CD of party jams: "Bring a funky dance mix. The host will thank you." And follow up the next day with an e-mail to the host, telling her what a great time you had. You'll definitely be on the must-invite list for next time.
