It follows Sean Nolan's death last Saturday.

Before Sean, a Dublin man, 60, was stabbed at his home in Tallaght in January.

In April, Renars Tuliko, 32, was killed in a knife attack in Thurles, Co Tipperary.

He was followed by Robert Kwiatkowski who was stabbed to death.

A man was killed in Ennis in January, while another male victim died in Clonmel in February.

A further three other men and a woman have also died in knife attacks since the beginning of the year.
