12 RUNNING FOR MOJAVE SCHOOL BOARD.

Voters in the Mojave Unified School District A unified school district is a school district which includes both primary school (kindergarten through middle school or junior high) and high school (grades 9-12). In Illinois, these districts are called unit school districts.  can pick from a crowded field in the November election: 12 people are vying for four seats on the school board.

Incumbents Connie Biehl, Annette Edblad and Rita Kellas face seven challengers in a bid for three four-year seats, while two others are running to fill the two-year post held by Tom Pear, an appointee APPOINTEE. A person who is appointed or selected for a particular purpose; as the appointee under a power, is the person who is to receive the benefit of the trust or power.  who is not running for re-election.

The two candidates running for Pear's seat are Keith Gainey, chief accountant for the Golden Queen Mining Co., and Richard Hall, a former board member.

In the Muroc Joint Unified School District, three four-year seats are up for grabs, and only one incumbent has filed to run, Karen Webster. The other two incumbents, Paula Harper and Steve Wiser, have declined to run.

Four candidates are running for Wiser's seat, which represents the Boron boron (bōr`ŏn) [New Gr. from borax], chemical element; symbol B; at. no. 5; at. wt. 10.81; m.p. about 2,300°C;; sublimation point about 2,550°C;; sp. gr. 2.3 at 25°C;; valence +3.  area. They are eligibility technician Willie Nelson, painter Mike Lowrey, instrumentation electrician Lamour Riddle, and senior research technician Stanley Evans.

Webster and challenger Janice Finch, who is self-employed, have filed for the two seats representing the area of Edwards Air Force Base Edwards Air Force Base, U.S. military installation, 301,000 acres (121,805 hectares), S Calif., NE of Lancaster; est. 1933. It is one of the largest air force bases in the United States and has the world's longest runway. , so they will automatically get in.
