12,000 women's starter for 10.


AROUND 12,000 runners took part in the annual women's 10k in Glasgow yesterday.

Serious amateurs also kept their eyes on the clock. But for many, the challenge was just to get round the course - and to raise as much money for charity as they could.

Liz Cameron, of Culture and Sport Glasgow, said: "I am so proud of the thousands of women who took part in the run."
