11th Judicial Circuit brings teachers into the courthouse.


Judges from Florida's 11th Circuit became the teachers recently to educate Dade County Dade County can refer to the following places:
  • Dade County, Florida, in the southeastern part of the state now renamed Miami-Dade County
  • Dade County, Georgia, the state's northwestern-most, bordering Alabama and Tennessee
 Public School teachers about the courts and the Constitution.

Chief Judge Farina provided a comprehensive overview of the structure and function of the courts. Lawyer Stephen C. Shenkman and teachers Jackie Viana and Connie Higgins also assisted with the training.

The second day of training targeted secondary teachers from the Dade County Public Schools. Judge Mark Leban and Pitts presented a Fourth Amendment case study. The case actually originated in Miami and went to the U.S. Supreme Court. The teachers became justices for a day to decide the case.
