11th Circuit 'legal legends' to be honored in November.


The 11th Judicial Circuit Historical Society has named the winners of its 2007 Legal Legends Awards, given to those who have made substantial contributions to the legal system in South Florida over the past 25 years or more.

This year's winners include Seymour Gaer, Joseph Hatchett, William Hoeveler, John Johnson John Johnson may refer to:

, Robert Josefsberg, Gerald Kogan, Albert Krieger, Janet Reno Janet Reno (born July 21, 1938) was the first and to date only female Attorney General of the United States (1993–2001). She was nominated by President Bill Clinton on February 11, 1993, and confirmed on March 11. , Johnnie Ridgely, Chesterfield Smith Chesterfield Smith (1917 - July 16, 2003) was the founder of Holland & Knight LLP, one of the largest law firms in the United States, and president of the American Bar Association during the Watergate scandal, from 1973-1974.

Smith was born, and grew up, in, Arcadia, Florida.

The society will honor the group at a dinner November 2, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Olympia Theater at Gusman Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Miami.
