The Food Pantry has used money from past Run Against Hunger events to purchase the building it had been leasing. The goal for this year is to start renovating the building to make sure it will provide the space for efforts toward the goal that no child in the Santa Clarita Valley go to bed hungry. The Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry was established in 1986 by a small group of community volunteers. With donations from the local community, the Food Pantry provides supplemental food on a short-term basis to about 24,000 individuals each year, 57 percent of whom are children.
