119 new vans joints transportation network.


DAV See WebDAV.  Departments and Chapters, in partnership with the Colorado Trust, put 119 new Ford vans on the road in 2005 to help get sick and disabled veterans to and from VA medical facilities for needed care. The vehicles are part of the tremendously successful DAV Transportation Network.

The 119 new vans include 59 Ford Freestar The Ford Freestar was a minivan that was manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from 2004 until November 2006. It replaced the Ford Windstar for the 2004 model year. The name change accommodated Ford's strategy to rename all their cars to words beginning in F. , 7-passenger vans, and 60 Ford E350 Super Duty XL. 12-passenger vans. They represent a combined investment of nearly $2.5 million. The new vans join the DAV Transportation Network where they will be turned over to VA medical facilities in 36 states.

Volunteer drivers from DAV Departments and Chapters picked tip the new vans staged at National Headquarters. While at National Headquarters, drivers had an opportunity to tour the Headquarters, visit (lie exhibits in the Fred R. Bristol Visitor Center, and buy items at the DAV Purchasing Department Noun 1. purchasing department - the division of a business that is responsible for purchases

, as well as meet some of the people they oven communicate with via telephone and the Internet.
