111 QUALIFY AS VALLEY CANDIDATES.

The Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County Registrar-Recorder's Office said Wednesday that it has qualified 111 candidates for city council and mayor of a new San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.

The county has also qualified 21 people for a proposed Hollywood city council, including billboard icon Angelyne.

Only two have held major elective office before: Assemblyman Keith Richman Dr. Keith S. Richman is a California, United States, Republican politician. From 2001 to 2007, he served in the California State Assembly representing the 38th Assembly District based in Northwest Los Angeles County. , a Valley mayoral candidate, and former Assemblywoman Paula Boland, running for the Valley 3rd district council seat. Others have a background of community activism and serving on local commissions, such as mayoral candidate Mel Wilson, a real estate dealer who has served on the city's Fire Commission and the MTA (1) (Message Transfer Agent or Mail Transfer Agent) The store and forward part of a messaging system. ``I think that's the neat part of it - the only two politicians in there are Keith and Paula Boland,'' said Walter Prince, a Northridge activist and council candidate. ``I think it's going to be fun. None of the people who are in office now were born as politicians. They all went in as regular people. For someone to say: They're inexperienced, ergo they're no good, doesn't mean anything. Everybody's inexperienced until they jump into it.''
