Improving Visual Inspection Techniques Seminar, 2 p.m.

This seminar, taught by Ted Schorn, is based on significant research in the field of human visual reliability and inspection theory.

Tuesday, April 18

Copper Division Luncheon, 11:45 a.m. This luncheon will be followed by a presentation by Gene Muratore on the value of CMI (Computer-Managed Instruction) Using computers to organize and manage an instructional program for students. It helps create test materials, tracks the results and monitors student progress.  courses as a resource for training personnel.

Annual Banquet A banquet is a large public meal or feast, complete with main courses and desserts. It usually serves a purpose, such as a charitable gathering, a ceremony, or a celebration. Sometimes a banquet consists of only desserts, but it is advisable to include main courses as well. , 7 p.m.

Highlights of the annual banquet include the presentation of the AFS A distributed file system for large, widely dispersed Unix and Windows networks from Transarc Corporation, now part of IBM. It is noted for its ease of administration and expandability and stems from Carnegie-Mellon's Andrew File System.

 H. Davies will present "Been There, Done That, Now What?"--a look at where the American metalcasting industry has been and a history of some of its contributions to society.

AFS Town Hall Meeting, 11:15 a.m.

An update on AFS/CMI activities and industry issues will be presented. Attendees will have the opportunity to voice concerns or raise questions to the AFS Board and staff.

AFS President's Luncheon & Annual Business Mtg. 12:30 p.m.

The luncheon features the presentation of awards and the election of AFS and CMI officers and directors.
