1105 Media, Inc. Forms the Virtualization Media Group, a Fully Integrated Media Outlet Serving IT Professionals Managing and Deploying Virtualization Solutions.

CHATSWORTH, Calif. -- 1105 Media, Inc. today launched a new business unit focused on virtualization technologies, products, news, and solutions. The Virtualization Media Group (VMG) will include a monthly print magazine, Virtualization Review, with an initial distribution of 40,000 readers, a Web site, newsletter, and an industry event. VMG will fall under the 1105 Enterprise Computing Group (ECG), which also houses the award-winning Redmond Media Group.

The virtualization market is exploding and there is now a fully formed industry with hundreds of vendors including large companies such as VMware Inc., Cisco Systems Inc., Microsoft Corp., Sun Microsystems Inc., IBM Corp. and Citrix Systems Inc., plus a host of exciting startups that are driving the technology forward.

"Virtualization is a way to make all aspects of IT vastly more efficient. This concept can apply to PCs, servers, storage, applications networking and even I/O," explains Doug Barney, editor in chief and editorial founder of Virtualization Review.

The expected launch date of Virtualization Review is March of 2008 with additional issues planned for May and July. The book is scheduled to transition to a monthly format with the August issue. Readership will be senior-level IT management and C-suite executives. Readers will also include senior-level system administrators, who in many ways are key decision drivers when implementing leading-edge business technologies. Overall circulation will focus on large organizations, which have adopted virtualization more aggressively than small and medium-size businesses. The Web site is currently under construction and will be online early in the first quarter of 2008. The event is scheduled for the fall of 2008.
