11 DISTRICT SEATS OPEN SCHOOL BOARD CHANGES COMING.

LANCASTER - Eleven board members in six school districts won't be seeking re-election.

Deciding not to run in the Nov. 6 election are longtime Palmdale School District The Palmdale School District is a school district that serves a major part of the city of Palmdale, California (USA).

``Four terms, that's enough,'' said Trosin, who before her 16 years on the Palmdale School District board spent 30 years as a school nurse. ``Let some of these younger parents get involved.''

Thompson, a Palmdale board member since 1981, shared Trosin's sentiment that he had served long enough: ``For me it's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia. Campaigning on the perceived need for change after 23 years of conservative (Liberal Party of Australia) government, Labor put forward a  to move on.''

Westside's Bosma said at his first election he had decided to stay on the board for eight years. ``I've done that,'' he said.

The officials' decisions, made final with the close of the standard election period Friday, means political hopefuls in those districts have three more days to sign up to run.

Filing deadlines for the six school district board races will be extended until Wednesday, a requirement of state law when an incumbent does not run.

In Antelope Valley Community College, running for three full-term seats are: incumbents Michael Adams and Betty Wienke; appointed board member Steve Buffalo; veterinarian veterinarian /vet·er·i·nar·i·an/ (vet?er-i-nar´e-an) a person trained and authorized to practice veterinary medicine and surgery; a doctor of veterinary medicine.

Vying for Buffalo's seat, which expires in December 2003, are Wilsona School District trustee Michael Brown, computer operator Jason Gonella, and Antelope Valley Bank president and Antelope Valley Fair director Jack Seefus.

In the Antelope Valley Union High School District, incumbents Brett Nelson and Cheryl Lundgren filed for re-election. A third seat is vacant due to former trustee Bill Olenick's resignation from the board in June.

Other candidates for the three high school seats include school maintenance personnel Dino Vidal, teacher Calvin Robinson, businessman Richard Cook, Keppel Union School District assistant superintendent James Lott, and business owner and teacher Al Beattie Sr.

In the Eastside Union School District, no challenger filed to run against the three incumbents: Charles Cooke, Ann Harris and Martha Johnson.

In the Hughes-Elizabeth Lakes Union School District, incumbent Lola Skelton Mantooth and retired peace officer Chester Wilcox have filed to run for three seats. Incumbent David Haerle and appointed incumbent Lauri Nakashima did not file.

In the Keppel Union School District race for three seats, incumbents Michael Dutton and Maxine Griffin, computer consultant Nicholas Trataris, and gas storage technician Jeff Sauer filed.

In the Lancaster School District, incumbents Keith Giles, Greg Tepe and Richard White filed for re-election, along with teacher Bill Lindoff and homemaker Judy Swanson.

In the Palmdale School District, incumbent Sheldon Epstein filed. Other candidates on the ballot for three seats include business owner Shawny Barcelona, parent and business owner Kathleen Edwards, Tim Murphy, Tim Dura, Terry Maness, homemaker Anthonette Vidal, business owner and Palmdale planning commissioner Robert Bo Bynum, businesswoman and education fund- raiser Sandy Corrales, and air traffic controller Stanley Faulk.

In the Westside Union School District, incumbent Christine LeBeau will be joined on the ballot for three seats by business owner Alex Alexandria Dunkel, electrical engineer Matthew Jones, teacher Marty Meeden, businessman Michael Gudim, business owner Donna Margharita, administrator Ralph Rodriguez, teacher James Brink, and parent and franchise business owner Robin Kessler.

In the Wilsona School District, incumbents Patricia Greene and Emma Montesdeoca will face Christina Behringer, teacher Mark Lucas, Christopher Lewis, studio driver Sean Dodge, and homemaker Benita Hunt, homemaker and parent Dolores Dolores (or Delores) was a common given name (until the 1960s in the USA); it is cognate with the English word "dolorous" (meaning sorrowful) and equivalent in meaning.  Myrie for three seats.

In the Southern Kern Unified School District, none of the three incumbents - Dennis Youngblood, Roger King and Ed Mackay - filed, but 12 challengers did.
