101-year-old Brit twins say secret to long life is 'not sitting still too long'.

 twin sisters Betty Richards and Jenny Pelmore are celebrating their 101th birthday saying secret to long life is 'not sitting still too long'.

Britain's oldest known twins were born half an hour apart in Manchester on January 1, 1908.

The sisters were both married but are now widows. Richards, who was a kindergarten kindergarten [Ger.,=garden of children], system of preschool education. Friedrich Froebel designed (1837) the kindergarten to provide an educational situation less formal than that of the elementary school but one in which children's creative play instincts would be  teacher, and later became a beekeeper, has two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pelmore, from Feock, near Truro, was a secretary and became an accomplished painter later in life.

At the age of 97, the twins began attending night classes to learn Spanish, and last year they visited Budapest to celebrate their centenaries.

"We are still in very good health and keep mobile. We are also together, which is the main thing," the Telegraph quoted Pelmore, as saying.

"We have always been active and intend to remain so. Having a busy life and not sitting still for too long is the key," Pelmore added.

Richards said: "The secret is to stay healthy. Just keep smiling and keep going."

Pelmore said: "We always celebrate every year. We had champagne on our 21st birthday and we hated it. I like a gin with plenty of tonic tonic, in music: see harmony; key; scale; tonality.  water. Betty likes her brandy and ginger." (ANI)
