100th anniversary.

Institution: Washington Trust Bank, Spokane, Wash.

Assets: $2.2 billion; 32 locations

Agency: Print campaign: Ed Renouard Creative and Lisa Hosmer Design, Spokane, Wash.

Brochure: Ed Clark Co. and Marvin Reguidin of Thinking Cap, Spokane, Wash.

As part of its 100th anniversary, Washington Trust Bank initiated a print campaign to highlight some of the institution's more significant achievements. The anniversary brochure was produced as a keepsake piece for both customers and employees.

The kick-off ceremony included an appearance of a bank customer, also 100 years old, who played the piano and harmonica! A local, well-known artist who designed the 100th anniversary poster was on hand to sign copies. All employees received a gift package containing an overview of the anniversary plans, their own copy of the anniversary brochure, copies of the newspaper ads and a special anniversary polo shirt.

Lisa Phillips of the bank says, "My advice is to understand the history of your bank well, and take that knowledge and make the event fun and memorable for all the audiences of your bank--customers prospects, employees and directors."
