Helping others comes second nature to 10-year-old Megan Ottman who comes up with different ways to help the needy

Collecting playthings for Toys For Tots Toys For Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which donates toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks.  and gathering canned goods, clothing and blankets for the poor are just a few ways she spends her free time.

Influenced by her parents and her tae kwon do tae kwon do

``I know I'm too young to drive a car, but I'm old enough to make a difference,'' she said.

Megan asks friends and neighbors to help out by donating things to give to people in need.

``My mom and dad take me to the poor people and I pass them out,'' she said. ``They seem happy and it makes me feel happy in my heart.''

Not only does this fifth-grader love to help people, she has a busy schedule for herself. After starting tae kwondo lessons at age 5, she has already become a black belt. She travels all the way to Huntington Bea belt, which takes more training and testing in front of her instructor and the rest of the tae kwon do school. She admits it will take a lot of practice to get to the next level, which includes breaking boards at home.

``My mom and dad hold the board and I aim for the right spot,'' she said. ``I have to relax and concentrate on the board so it doesn't hurt when I hit it.''

She started to compete in tae kwon do tournaments when she was 5 years old, and she has won first and second place awards in a Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States.  championship. She has competed many times since then and has won many trophies.

She also involves herself in other activities by taking Ninja fighting lessons, being on a soccer team, playing the clarinet clarinet, musical wind instrument of cylindrical bore employing a single reed. The clarinet family comprises all single-reed instruments, including the saxophone. The predecessor of the modern clarinet was the simpler chalumeau, which J. C.  in her school orchestra and singing in the school chorus. She has even collected 5,000 postage stamps This is a list of postage stamps that are especially notable in some way.
