10 fab ways to go glam: create your own sizzling red carpet look.

Whether it's a holiday bash or New Year's formal, this is the season to go Hollywood hot. We've got tips for glare makeup and big-night-out hair.

1 Be a golden girl Party on with precious metals--golds and bronzes are everywhere. To shine like Emily, our model on the left, line eyes (carefully!) with black liner super-close to your lashes. 2 Go for the glow Get your skin radiant by smoothing on tinted moisturizer (Bourjois Happy Light Foundation, $20, bourjois.com). It gives you a pretty, natural finish.

3 Bat big lashes Fake eyelashes are so fun! Apply a thin coat of mascara to your natural lashes (Revlon Lash Fantasy Mascara, $9, drugstores). Then, trim the lash strips to fit. We like Revlon Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Eyelashes, $6, drugstores, because they stick on without glue. Place the strip at the inner corner of your eye, and press down as close to the lash line as possible. Finish with an extra coat of mascara.

4 Splash color on lips Red lips aren't for everyone. But a touch of pinky/red is. That's why we love Bonne Bell Vita [Gloss.sub.2]O in Sheer Strawberry, ($3.50, drugstores). And, it has a yummy strawberry scent--perfect for mistletoe and the stroke of midnight.

7 Give hair some glitz This blingin' tiara ($12, Claire's) makes you a queen for a night. Lightly tease a section of hair on top, and brush sides into a ponytail. Push comb into hair at the crown of your head.

8 Sport sparkly nails Our fave? The crimson-y Essie's Hot Commodity nail polish ($8, 1-800-232-1155). Before polishing, file q nails short and oval. No dragon-lady talons, please.

9 Blot on some berry Pale skin can look seriously dramatic with a sheer blackberry lip hue (Clinique Glosswear in Black Honey, $13.50, department stores) and flushed-look blush. Moisturize, then rub Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel in Flushed ($20, sephora.com) onto the apples of your cheeks. Blend well.
