The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  monitors.

Renown for its acclaimed "AlphScan" monitor series, Sampo Technology produces LCD monitors boasting high performance and superior value -- for both home and business use. The company's new PD-70FA series contains 10 15-inch LCD monitor models, which differ in the housing surrounding the display. Each uses the Genesis chip for critical connection to legacy PC video cards, as well as for outstanding image processing.

"The gmZAN1 chip helps reduce our costs," said Jimmy Hsieh, Director of the R&D Division of Sampo Technology. "It includes important integration features, so we're not buying as many other components. Added to that, the scaled output image is fantastic, nobody does scaling better than Genesis."

Sampo Technology makes monitor subsystems for brand-name customers, particularly in Europe. Non-disclosure agreements prevent Genesis from naming them.

The gmZAN1 LCD controller combines the company's patented algorithms and architectures to "piece together" the best analog-interface technology Genesis has to offer. This includes Genesis's well-received scaling process and its proven 8-bit triple analog-to-digital converter (ADC (1) See A/D converter.
