10,000 EXPECTED AT PARADE.

The Palmdale Chamber of Commerce expects more than 10,000 spectators Saturday for 120 floats, bands and color guards in its 46th annual Christmas Parade.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. at 20th Street East, head west on Palmdale Boulevard and end at Poncitlan Square, Ninth Street East and Avenue Q-9, where there will be more than 40 booths for a holiday boutique Boutique

This will be the second year for the reversal of the traditional parade route. As in 1998, the parade will end at the square so people will have a place to congregate con·gre·gate

``Part of the idea behind the route is that Mayor (Jim) Ledford wanted some kind of community event going on after the parade, and we now have our annual Christmas boutique, and that is our main focus,'' Snider said. ``The boutique is a huge part of the event.''
