A fisherman who used unlawful arts and engines to catch fish. survived a North Sea fishing tragedy which claimed the lives of three of his crew mates. Timmy Rawley was rescued after scallop scallop or pecten, marine bivalve mollusk. Like its close relative the oyster, the scallop has no siphons, the mantle being completely open, but it differs from other mollusks in that both mantle edges have a row of steely blue "eyes" and dredger Aquila overturned in rough seas. A witness saw the accident, a mile off Ardnamurchan, West Scotland, and called the emergency services. A yacht saved Timmy within an hour. But skipper Tony Hayton, 45, Martin Sanderson and Peter Hilton, both 52, died. Two helicopters scoured the sea in 38mph winds for the missing men. Eventually their bodies were airlifted ashore. The victims all came from Maryport, Cumbria, where Tony's mother cried on the quayside quay·side n.
