1 DEAD, 1 CRITICAL IN CRASH.

LANCASTER - A 66-year-old Lancaster woman was killed and her teenage granddaughter critically injured in·jure

 in a collision Sunday when the woman pulled away from a stop sign into the path of a big rig Big Rig was a punk band from the San Francisco Bay Area fronted by singer/songwriter Jesse Michaels. Michaels performed with the group after the break up of his previous project, Operation Ivy, and before forming the band Common Rider.  filled with carrots.

A second granddaughter was injured but was expected to survive.

No names were immediately released.

The woman had been driving the girls in a small car northbound north·bound

The truck driver slammed on his brakes and skidded into the small car, officers said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 15-year-old granddaughter, sitting in the back seat behind the driver, was also badly hurt, officials said. A 16-year-old granddaughter in the front passenger seat was injured but not as seriously, officials said.

Relatives of the victims came to the crash scene as officials were investigating.
