Haemophilus influenzae type b ) today announced the following news regarding its branch and non-branch locations in Texas and Louisiana following Hurricane Rita Hurricane Rita was the fourth-most intense Atlantic hurricane ever recorded and the most intense tropical cyclone ever observed in the Gulf of Mexico. Rita caused $11.3 billion in damage on the U.S. Gulf Coast in September 2005. : In Texas: --In Beaumont, Orange and surrounding markets: closed. --In Houston: most offices are open. A few offices are closed as employees who work in those locations return to the city following the evacuation. --In the Rio Grande Rio Grande, city, Brazil Rio Grande (rē` grän`dĭ), city (1991 pop. Valley and Austin: all offices open. --Back-office support areas in Houston: open. --Elsewhere in Texas: open. However, there could be spotty closings based on local conditions. In Louisiana: --All offices in Calcasieu and surrounding parishes: closed.
