1,000 Free Laptop Computers to Be Given Away by NuAuction.com.

CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 1999--

NuAuction.com announced today 1,000 free laptop computers to be given away to randomly selected consumers for just registering and listing at least 10 items for sale at NuAuction person-to-person auction site.

Registration and listing are free, and no purchase is required to qualify for the free laptops. This is in addition to 12,000 free PC giveaway promotion, which is still on.

"After announcing 12,000 free computers in April, thousands of people have registered and started trading at our user-friendly site. NuAuction.com is the only company to give away free laptops," said Neil Sharma, Marketing Director of NuAuction.com. "This new announcement is to increase the number of listings at NuAuction.com site. "We are using pull marketing in addition to regular advertising. In order to qualify for the free laptop draw, consumers have to list at least 10 items for sale over a 3-month period. Listing is free. The consumer owns the free laptops given by us, and there are no strings attached."

In addition, the company will now offer customized, free e-commerce merchant pages for merchants, who want to sell their inventory (new, used or refurbished) in an auction format. For this NuAuction has a No Sale -- No Fees policy. NuAuction.com also plans to work closely with a few selected portal sites to create customized, co-branded person-to-person auction sites that will be fully integrated into each portal site.

"For small merchants, NuAuction.com represents a great opportunity to reach millions of Internet users via the auction format," said Dr. Ken Kapur, President of NuAuction.com. "For consumers, NuAuction offers a large selection of used and new items that are difficult to find using traditional means. Big companies like Compaq (CPQ CPQ Compaq
