007 DOUBLE TROUBLE AS BOND WARS BREAK OUT.
Sony Pictures says it plans to make a Bond movie called Warhead 2000 AD to rival those made by a company run by original producer Cubby Broccoli.
Ralph Fiennes, Mel Gibson and original 007 Sean Connery are lining up to star in it.
A bitter court battle to control the pounds 2 billion film franchise is now expected. Writer Kevin McClory claims he owns rights to the Bond films and Sony is backing him.
McClory sued Bond creator Ian Fleming after he was refused a credit for 1965 movie Thunderball, which he co-produced and wrote the screenplay for. McClory won and retained the rights to remake the Bond film.
But film giant MGM said: "We will use all means to protect the franchise that United Artists and the Broccoli family have nurtured for 30 years."
