.A new Golf Estate goes on sale in Britain early next year, and Volkswagen says it draws heavily on the design language seen in the latest Scirocco, Golf and Polo models. The front-end styling helps create the impression that the Golf Estate is both lower and wider, and there''s revised rear lights. Petrol engines will include a quick but frugal 1.4-litre, with a 1.6-litre common-rail unit expected to be the popular diesel choice. A 2.0-litre diesel tops the engine range, and there will be a BlueMotion version of the Golf Estate, too. VW will issue full pricing details towards the end of the year.
