THQ Sends Arcade Cult-Classic, ``Sinistar: Unleashed'' to PC; New Game Takes Advantage of Intel Pentium III Processor Capabilities.
"Sinistar: Unleashed" is based on the well-known `80s arcade classic "Sinistar(R)," and will be exploding onto personal computers this summer.
The original "Sinistar" debuted in 1983 and became an instant cult classic. Today, "Sinistar" is regarded as one of the most challenging games in arcade history.
"The Intel Pentium III processor enables 3-D accelerated game developers such as GameFX to push interactive gaming experiences to the limit," stated C Noah Davis chief technology officer of THQ and president of GameFX(tm) Studio.
"`Sinistar: Unleashed' represents the rebirth of the original `Sinistar' as it moves from a flat 2-D environment to a new, breathtaking, truly 3-D accelerated universe using the Intel Pentium III processor's capabilities."
"We are excited that leading game publishers such as THQ have found the Intel Pentium III processor platform to be an exciting game platform to rejuvenate classic games by using the most technologically advanced tools," said Tom Galvin, Intel Director of Entertainment/ Education Market Development.
"Sinistar: Unleashed" will be optimized for the Intel Pentium III processor, allowing the game's lighting and geometry transformation engine to process more detail faster than previously possible.
On the Intel Pentium III processor, the already stunning visuals of "Sinistar: Unleashed" leap to new heights as a result of the processor's ability to increase interactions, polygon counts and lighting transforms. Together, these improvements make "Sinistar: Unleashed" the most exciting space-arcade experience ever developed.
