CompLink subsidiary receives "Best of LAN Times" award for mobile middleware product.

) subsidiary has received the "Best of Times" Award from LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  Times magazine for its mobile middleware product, WorldLink(R).

The October 2, 1995 article states "WorldLink(R) has perhaps the best architecture of any mobile-middleware product on the market." TDS/CompLink's WorldLink(R) software simplifies data communications data communications, application of telecommunications technology to the problem of transmitting data, especially to, from, or between computers. For the implementation and support team, WorldLink(R) provides for centralized control 1. In air defense, the control mode whereby a higher echelon makes direct target assignments to fire units. 2. In joint air operations, placing within one commander the responsibility and authority for planning, directing, and coordinating a military operation or group/category of  and auditing of software, transactions, data, and messages passing between the host and the remote users. In addition, WorldLink automates many systems administration tasks that are difficult to administer remotely, such as configuration changes, installation of new software, and scanning for viruses.
