Figures show that more than 20,000 Britons have registered for Barclays' (LSE LSE - Language Sensitive Editor : BARC) Pingit mobile money transfer service.

The bank had launched the service only two days before. The service allows mobile users with a Barclays current account to send money using a mobile smart phone.

The bank said that it would launch the service for customers of other banks soon.
