             PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY UNDERWAY ON 'RAPTURE'
STARRING MICHAEL ONTKEAN, GEMMA BARRY AND KAREN ALLEN
TORONTO, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Principal photography has begun in Toronto on the telefilm "Rapture," a Paragon Entertainment Production for the TriStar Premiere Network, starring Michael Ontkean, newcomer Gemma Barry and Karen Allen.
The psychological thriller features Ontkean as Jeff Lisker, a prominent executive whose feelings for his now-married high school crush, Georgianne (Allen), rage out of control. After misinterpreting her friendly reaction to their first encounter in 20 years, he devises a deadly plan to secure a romantic position in her life.
"Rapture" also introduces Barry in the role of Georgianne's daughter, Bonnie.
Ontkean is best known for his leading role as Sheriff Harry S. Truman in the hit ABC series "Twin Peaks." He has also starred in several feature films, including "Postcards From the Edge," "Maid to Order," "Slap Shot" and "Making Love."
Allen, who starred opposite Harrison Ford in Steven Spielberg's "Raiders of the Lost Ark," has also toplined such feature films as "Scrooged" with Bill Murray and "Starman" with Jeff Bridges.
"Rapture" launches TriStar Television's adhoc movie network, which will provide original movies for syndication. The network will air telefilms on a quarterly basis during its inaugural season with plans to expand to one movie a month next year. Columbia Pictures Television Distribution, TriStar's sister company, is handling domestic distribution.
The executive producer of "Rapture" is Jon Slan. Richard Borchiver serves as producer. The project was written by Lorenzo Semple ("Papillon," "Three Days of the Condor") and Vera Appleyard based on the book by Thomas Tessier.
TriStar Television and Columbia Pictures Television Distribution are Sony Pictures Entertainment companies. Sony Pictures Entertainment's global operations encompass motion picture production and distribution, television programming and syndication, theatrical exhibition, home video, operation of studio facilities and distribution of filmed entertainment worldwide.
