this comprehensive guide was to help music teachers become competent and comfortable using the technology-teaching tools of our day. After reading Technology Guide for Music Educators I congratulate each of these educators for providing this valuable guide that will save other educators many hours of research by having so much information compiled in one source.

The book has six core technology areas: "Electronic Musical Instruments"; "Music Production, Music Notation notation: see arithmetic and musical notation.

Each chapter concludes with a summary table of the products presented, including information such as system requirements To be used efficiently, all computer software needs certain hardware components or other software resources to be present on a computer system. For educators who have very little understanding of the many usages of technology in music education, Technology Guide for Music Educators will be a "must-have" book. Some of the great features are the provided grade level appropriateness of the software, ideas for integrating technologies into the music curriculum, and the in-depth explanations of lab management, making movies and creating DVDs. For me, the book will serve as a wonderful resource. I found the listings of the Internet resources to be very helpful and learned about additional websites to visit. Since I am expanding my working knowledge in the areas of production and multimedia, I found Chapter 2, "Music Production" and Chapter 5, "Multimedia," to be informative.

Even though the guide mentions specific brands or retailers, its strength is having been compiled by music educators for music educators. The authors have shared the materials they have found to be beneficial in their teaching.

Congratulations to TI:ME for responding to the requests of our educators and providing a valuable resource in using technology in teaching music in the 21st century. Martha Stubbs, Tallahassee, Florida For other uses, see Tallahassee (disambiguation).
