(GEN) TURKISH PREMIER DEPARTS FROM BELGIUM.


BRUSSELS, Jun 27, 2009 (TUR) -- The Turkish prime minister departed from Belgium on Friday.

Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan completed his talks in the Belgian capital of Brussels, and left this country for Turkey.

Erdogan arrived in Brussels on Thursday, and attended a formal dinner hosted by the Crans Crans is the name or part of the name of several places:
  • France
  • Crans, Ain, a commune in the Ain département
  • Crans, Jura, a commune in the Jura département
 Montana Forum.

Earlier on Friday, Erdogan delivered a speech at the Crans Montana Forum, titled "Turkey's European Future"; met Belgian Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy Herman A. Van Rompuy (born October 31, 1947 in Etterbeek) is a Flemish politician and member of the CD&V (formerly called CVP). He was the Vice President of the CVP Youth from 1973 to 1975, from 1978 onward, he was a member of the National Bureau of the CVP, from 1975 to 1980 he , European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and European Commissioner for enlargement The Commissioner for Enlargement is the member of the European Commission. The current Commissioner is Olli Rehn (ALDE) who has overseen the enlargement to Romania and Bulgaria The portfolio deals with the Enlargement of the European Union, which has already grown from 6 members to  Olli Rehn.

Also, the Crans Montana Institute granted award (Prix de la Foundation) to Erdogan during his visit to Belgium.
