(GEN) ANADOLU AGENCY TO COOPERATE WITH YONHAP OF SOUTH KOREA.TEHRAN, Nov 16, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- The Anadolu Agency (A.A) and South Korea's biggest news agency, Yonhap, have agreed to share experience and information. The two news agencies signed a memorandum of understanding A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a legal document describing a bilateral or multilateral agreement between parties. It expresses a convergence of will between the parties, indicating an intended common line of action and may not imply a legal commitment. (MOU (Minutes Of Usage) A metric used to compute billing and/or statistics for telephone calls or other network use. ) following an annual meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) in Iranian capital city of Tehran on Sunday. The agreement signed by A.A Deputy Director-General and Vice President of Executive Board Tahsin Akti and Yonhap's Executive Director of International Affairs Chang-Hoe, also envisages exchange of news photographs and video. Akti said following the signing ceremony that the age of multimedia entailed news agencies to share news video and graphics besides news reports and photographs. "Earlier this year, the A.A signed similar agreements with Chinese and Indonesian news agencies. Now, this agreement with Yonhap will strengthen the visual communication between Turkey and Far Eastern countries," Akti added. Chang-Hoe, on his part, said that Yonhap, a Seoul-based publicly-funded news agency which currently offers a web-based news broadcast that runs nine hours per day, took part in a tender for government license to launch an all-news cable television channel to broadcast 24 hours a day. "If Yonhap wins the tender, it will need news videos. Therefore, we attach importance to our cooperation with the A.A," he added.
