The closed-door meeting lasted for one and a half hour. European businessmen informed President Gul on commercial activities and investment opportunities in China, officials said. Gul said Chinese businessmen's investments in Turkey, which has been conducting membership negotiations with the EU, could be regarded as investing in Europe. China could also enter the European market by investing in Turkey, President Gul said.
