(DIP) TURKEY BECOMES MEMBER OF UN JOINT INSPECTION UNIT.UNITED NATIONS, Nov 3, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- Turkey became a member of the United Nations Joint Inspection Unit after receiving 146 votes in a voting at the United Nations General Assembly. " group, France was also elected member of the unit after receiving 117 votes while Spain got the lowest number of votes and could not be elected. During the voting, 186 out of 192 members of the United Nations General Assembly cast their votes. The unit is composed of not more than eleven inspectors appointed by the General Assembly on the basis of their special experience in national or international administrative and financial matters, including management questions, and with due regard to the principle of equitable equitable adj. 1) just, based on fairness and not legal technicalities. 2) refers to positive remedies (orders to do something, not money damages) employed by the courts to solve disputes or give relief.
