Bagis spoke at Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Commission meeting in Ankara, and said that EU process was interrupted in·ter·rupt v. in·ter·rupt·ed, in·ter·rupt·ing, in·ter·rupts v.tr. 1. Bagis said that developments, which had been happening since December 2006, proved that political problems were influential on the whole negotiation process. He added that Turkey-EU relations were under the influence of political stances of several EU countries. He noted that Turkey targeted to open environment chapter in December. Bagis said that if there was not political preventions of EU member states, six chapters could currently be opened. He added that also three more chapters could be opened in a short time if there were not political obstacles. Bagis said that Turkey could not record progress in nine chapters due political reasons.
