(DIP) ERDOGAN, GILANI DISCUSS SEVERAL TOPICS FROM F-16 MODERNIZATION TO RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS.


ISLAMABAD, Oct 26, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had discussed several topics from modernization of Pakistan's F-16 fighter jets to Turkey's religious school system that Pakistan was willing to adopt, diplomats said.

Gilani told Erdogan that his government attached great importance to modernization of Pakistan's F-16 fighter jets by Turkish Aerospace Industries, or TAI.

Gilani also appreciated Turkey's stance towards Kashmir issue and offered help to Turkey to improve relations with China, saying "we have good relations with China", diplomats said.

On his part, Erdogan said that Turkey wanted stability in the region and added that Turkey would do its best to help Pakistan join NATO NATO: see North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
