(CUL) 37TH ISTANBUL INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL TO END WITH CONCERT OF DANIEL BARENBOIM.ISTANBUL, Jun 27, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- The 37th Istanbul International Music Festival The Istanbul International Music Festival, formerly Istanbul Festival, (Turkish: Uluslararası İstanbul Müzik Festivali) is a cultural event held every June and July in Istanbul, Turkey. will end with a concert of pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim on June 30. A statement by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts said on Friday that Barenboim, honorary guest of the festival, would give a concert accompanied by La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra at Lutfi Kirdar Congress and Exhibition Hall. Before the concert, Barenboim will be presented "award of lifelong success" of the festival. Daniel Barenboim who was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on November 15, 1942 has a rich recorded repertoire as a conductor, pianist, accompanist, and chamber music player.
