(CSCO)(NTAP) NetVoice Technologies Teams With LCC International to Expand Its VOIP Network Into Fixed Wireless Broadband.

) a global leader in wireless voice and data turn-key technical consulting services to support NetVoice in implementing a fixed wireless broadband IP network.

NetVoice will be utilizing the U-NII U-NII Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (bandwith for wireless LAN Networks by FCC 5.15-5.35 GHz and 5.75-5.825 GHz)  and 5.725 GHz to 5.825 GHz frequency band to roll out its initial trials in Los Angeles, Tampa, Dallas, and Houston. NetVoice has selected LCC to provide technical engineering design and implementation support for the construction of a wireless last-mile extension to its national IP voice and data network.

NetVoice will be deploying Cisco's Systems Inc.'s Vector Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing See FDM.

Known to be reliable in areas with a lot of interference, VOFDM is being developed and supported as an open standard for wireless )-based WT2700 Wireless Technology Suite. The WT2700 infrastructure equipment will allow the delivery of two-way data, voice, and video communications over the air at speeds in excess of 44 megabits per second (unit) megabits per second - (Mbps, Mb/s) Millions of bits per second. A unit of data rate. 1 Mb/s = 1,000,000 bits per second (not 1,048,576).

 on a single wireless link. LCC was named to Cisco's ecosystem technology team to support their VOFDM wireless technology.

Commenting on LCC's latest contract win, C. Today's announcement follows last Novembers announcement by Cisco that it was joining forces with ten leading companies to develop open technology standards based on VOFDM technology for wireless broadband Internet and other IP services. VOFDM technology overcomes the issues of interference and multi-path fading that can occur in wireless environments, allowing for a more robust and reliable service offering.
