'Woody's an inspiration':.

Mike Ruddock Mike Ruddock, OBE (born 5 September 1959 in Blaina) was the coach of the Welsh national rugby union team from 2004 until February 2006.

Ruddock played in the back row for Blaina, Tredegar and Swansea, making 119 appearances for Swansea and scoring 43 tries.
 today insisted Sir Clive Woodward Sir Clive Ronald Woodward, CBE (born 6 January 1956 at Ely in Cambridgeshire) is a former English rugby union international who was the coach of the England rugby union team from 1997 to 2004. Woodward managed the England side to victory at the 2003 Rugby World Cup.  has been an inspiration to northern hemisphere rugby. 'Sir Clive will be sorely missed,' he said. 'It is an incredible achievement to have won the World Cup with England.

'He has been an inspiration to all northern hemisphere teams that one day they can achieve that too. He did it through meticulous planning and excellent selections.'

Meanwhile Cardiff Blues Cardiff Blues (Welsh: Gleision Caerdydd) are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams. Based in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, the team play at Cardiff Arms Park and are owned by Cardiff Rugby Football Club.  coach Dai Young believes Sir Clive WOULD be able to make the transition from rugby to football.

'It's a difficult one because I am not entirely sure of his precise role with England,' he said.

'But my understanding of it is that he is more of a manager, and if you are doing that and motivating people is it that much different in another sport?

'I'm sure he could do the organisation in another sport.'

NEWCASTLE director of rugby Rob Andrew has ruled himself out of the race to succeed Sir Clive Woodward when the England head coach confirms his resignation.
